Privacy Notice

What information capitoljournal.media collects, and what it does not.

Last updated

This notice is pending legal review. It describes the site as it works today and will be updated after that review.

Who is responsible

This site is operated by Atlas Media Network, LLC, 36 Russ Street, 3rd Floor, Hartford, CT 06106, United States. Questions about privacy: privacy@atlasmedianetwork.org.

What we do not collect

  • The site has no forms, accounts, comments or newsletter sign-ups for readers.
  • We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or third-party analytics.
  • We do not sell or share personal information.
  • Fonts and scripts are served from our own domain, so reading a page does not send your information to font or script providers.

What is collected automatically

The site is hosted by Netlify, Inc. Like any web server, Netlify’s systems process technical information needed to deliver pages and protect the service, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in server logs. See Netlify’s privacy policy.

Links and share buttons

Our stories link to official and third-party websites, such as vote.gov, state election offices and the sources we cite. The share buttons are plain links; nothing is sent to X, Facebook or other services unless you click them. Once you follow a link, that site’s own privacy policy applies.

Newsroom panel

The editing panel at /admin/ is used only by our staff, who sign in with their GitHub accounts. It is not used by readers.

If you write to us

If you email us, we use your message and address only to respond, for example to process a correction request.

Changes

If we change how the site handles information, we will update this notice and its date.
